Geochemical Stratigraphy of the Prima Porta Travertine Deposit (Roma, Italy)

چکیده
A stratigraphy of a buried travertine deposit was developed using stable isotope geochemistry, trace elements, and radiometric dating. The identified in well at Prima Porta (north Rome, Italy), located the western boundary Tiber Valley, morpho-tectonic depression extensional origin. It deposited close to spring that discharged groundwaters from nearby volcanic aquifer associated with rise deep-seated CO2-rich fluid. deposition occurred between 53.5 ± 10 ka 24.2 4.7 ka; its activation probably coeval wettest climatic conditions occurring during Marine Isotope Stage 3, end coincided cold arid phase last glacial maximum. chronostratigraphy showed strong variation accumulation rate along depositional sequence, greater lower half much slower upper part, sharp decrease 47 43 ka. chemical described temporal evolution events are correlated global variability; palaeoclimatic changes, fact, influenced hydrological regime indirectly tectonic activity by modulating emission deep CO2, chemistry groundwater, ultimately precipitation travertine.

Mineralogical and Geochemical characteristics of the Chah-Shur Clay Deposit, Southeast of Isfahan, Iran
The Chah-Shur clay deposit is located in150 km southeast of Isfahan. Eocene igneous rocks and Quaternary deposits cover the area. Eocene volcanic rocks include andesite and tuffs which relating to magmatic activities of Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic belt. Alteration of the vitric and lithic tuff units has produced the clay deposit. Based on the petrographic studies, the main minerals in tuff uni...

The Siahrudbar deposit is located about 25 km southwest of Aliabad-Katool city in the Golestan Province, north of Iran. This deposit lies between the Triassic limestone (Elika Formation) and Jurassic sandstone (Shemshak Formation). Mineralogical studies indicate the presence of major minerals such as diaspore, hematite, anatase, kaolinite, and chamosite accompanied by minor minerals such as boe...
متن کاملGeochemical Exploration of the Tareek Darreh Gold Deposit, North of Torbat-e Jaam, East Iran
The Tareek Darreh gold deposit is located 40km north of Torbat-e Jaam in the Khorassan-Razavi province, NE-Iran. The study area mainly comprises slightly metamorphosed, sedimentary rocks of Jurassic age including alternation of shale, siltstone, and sandstone. These rocks have been intruded by plutonic rocks such as gabbro-norite, diorite, quartz-diorite, and rhyodacite. The ore bodes are expos...
متن کاملThe dynamics of travertine dams
We present a simple, abstract model for travertine dam formation. The simulation uses a depth-averaged hydrodynamic code, coupled with an empirical precipitation model where surface-normal growth rate is proportional to local flow rate. The dynamics of the resulting formation, coarsening and migration (progradation) of crests is demonstrated and compared with field observations. The local self-...
متن کاملGenesis of the Tang Zagh iron deposit by using mineralogical and geochemical data, Hormozgan province
The Tang Zagh iron deposit is located about 117 km Northeast of Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province in the structural folded-thrusted zone of the Zagros basin. Iron mineralization occurs in the form of iron oxides (hematite) within the salt dome and/or in fractures and between the layers of the younger strata with the Tertiary age. Based on the microscopic studies, dolomitic fragments of the host ...
